Fight the Net

As a follow-up to my last post, I am presenting another article that unveils the US plans to wage a war against the progressive elements on the cyber space.

A newly declassified document gives a fascinating glimpse into the US
military's plans for "information operations" - from psychological
operations, to attacks on hostile computer networks.

Bloggers beware.

As the world turns networked, the Pentagon is calculating the
military opportunities that computer networks, wireless technologies
and the modern media offer.

From influencing public opinion through new media to
designing "computer network attack" weapons, the US military is
learning to fight an electronic war.

The declassified document is called "Information Operations Roadmap".
It was obtained by the National Security Archive at George Washington
University using the Freedom of Information Act.

Nobody wants a strong opposition, and that holds true for the progressive and the reactionary alike. The US , being the leader of the gang of capitalist hegemonists of the world, will atttempt to stop or contain any philosophy, discourse or movement that goes against them. In their own country througout the 1950s to the 1980s they used to routinely imprison and harass dissidents as communists and spies posted by the Soviet Union. It is no wonder, that US will hunt the cyber space trying to hunt down what it feels as hostile elements. Fortunately, man is not constrained by technology--and communists should never be. If there is policing and harassment on one medium, we would soon find another medium. Any medium is good for us--so long it can carry forward the essential message--that of the working class and oppressed ones to unite and to carry forward the task of the revolution.

Frankly, I'm more wary of the 'enemy within' than that of the 'enemy outside'.
